Amy Heyn is a passionate dancer, performer, and leader whose experience spans decades of elite training, touring, and professional-level performance—including dancing on one of the biggest stages in sports entertainment with the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers.

She studied at the Martell School of Dance under Cleveland Ballet–trained instructor Teri Martell, whose elite instruction helped Amy build a strong technical foundation. In 1993, Amy auditioned and was selected as a “Caravan Kid,” completing a national tour with Hoctor's Dance Caravan and gaining invaluable experience demonstrating and performing for audiences across the USA and Canada while sharing the stage with renowned dancers such as Tyce Diorio, Savion Glover, Scott Benson, Jerry Rose, and Mallory Graham. In 1994, she was awarded the coveted Martell School of Dance Scholarship Student recognition—an early testament to her talent, discipline, and dedication.

Her background also includes cheerleading at Copley High School, where she served as captain, building leadership, confidence, and team discipline while representing her school. Amy continued performing at the collegiate level as a member of the University of Akron Dance Team, and later achieved a professional milestone as a member of the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers Dance Team.

Amy also performs with the North East Dance Collective, a group of professional dancers and instructors, traveling and appearing in productions across several states. She has also had the pleasure of serving as a backup performer for singer and television star Billy Hufsey (Fame, Days of Our Lives), further showcasing her performance versatility at a professional entertainment level.

Today, Amy continues to share her passion for performance by teaching and adjudicating both dance and cheer, inspiring the next generation through strong technique, discipline, and confidence. Proud to call Akron home, Amy is happily married with one daughter—bringing the same energy, joy, and dedication that fueled her performing career into every part of her life.
